So Senator Craig is busted for lewd conduct in an airport bathroom, pleads guilty and keeps this fact as private as possible, despite having a few weeks to consider his plea and such, and it turns out he's another anti-homosexual crusader... Is it me or can we just start assuming that anyone who speaks out against gay rights is gonna be busted in a bathroom trying to do something with a member of the same sex? It seems entirely too common. Craig is now proclaiming his innocence (making him, at best, a criminal liar for his entered plea) as loudly as possible but the circumstances suggest (strongly) otherwise. Keeping it secret from everyone, including his family, is an odd choice. Suggesting that he didn't know what he was signing regarding his guilty plea would mean he's extraordinarily dumb. Regardless of your general opinion regarding the intelligence of Republicans I'm personally not inclined to believe he is so dumb he didn't know what he was signing, but it's clear that he wasn't smart enough to think through the "guilty" plea and it's consequences.
Whatever the fallout over this there's one thing you can count on: The anti-gay crowd isn't gonna stop or slow down merely because (yet another) one of their own was found asking an undercover cop in a public men's room to do exactly what he preaches so loudly against. They've never learned from this before, why start now? But to these "haters" I say this: "The louder you scream about it, the gayer you're gonna look!" So go ahead, shout about it. Just be careful in the men's room.
